WoI BBS User Owns CNet Source!

CNet Pro Several have tried and more then that even, have failed. However, on December 31, 2005 @ 11:30pm (CST). The deal for Storm's Edge Technologies to purchase Amiga CNet BBS software from Todd H. Knight was completed. Dan Fitzgerald (who goes by K-Guide on Window of Illusion BBS) started working on this deal with Todd back in March of 2005. However the research he did before starting talks with Todd was going on since April 2004.

I remember back around the start of 2005 K-Guide asking a group of chatters in joinlink what they thought of him attempting to buy CNet. I would like to say there were mixed feelings, but the fact is. Not a one of of the current sysops at the time. Including myself thought he could do it just cus it would never happen.

As time went on and I continued to help K-Guide setup a BBS with a license he owned. I came to think that he just might pull it off. For a time I was really intent on every update he had to tell me. However, around October 2005 I got busy working with Spirit Halloween/Spencers and lost track of the progress. Up till a few weeks ago I had just about again figured it would go no where.

Then I started to see some things happening. For example Future World II went online and joinlink with the other current systems. Messages about the BBS were on the news group. This system was a testing ground to see if the code that K-Guide was reviewing would build a working CNet software package. Indeed it did and everything seemed to work. K-Guide seemed to believe the deal would be done soon.

Now, not that I want to make this all about me. Imagine my supprise though, that the deal finnaly went down on my Birthday! I mean as I understand it, this was a job to get everything finished. What timming and, what a birthday gift! Course since I was busy on new years eve I didn't see the message till the first of the year.

The newsgroup of which we all watch real close. Shows yet another example of the fighting that goes on between Todd and Ray. I suspect they will go on like this for all of 2006 now as well.

For Dan (K-Guide) he has his work cut out for him. From what he says right now. It sounds like there is going to be very soon is a version that corrects the copyright info at login. After that it's on to all bug fixes.
